TEAM MIAMI COMPLETES AN ELECTRIFYING INAUGURAL SEASON IN E1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The international superstar will launch E1 Team Miami and bring the UIM E1 World Championship to Miami in Season 2 as part of exciting announcement.
MIAMI, XX November 2023 – Marc Anthony, winner of eight Latin Grammys, four Grammys, 29 Lo Nuestro Awards and who has had 105 #1 Billboard hits, racked up more than 8 billion views on YouTube and a total of 15.218 billion streams across all platforms; is looking to add one more new title to his trophy cabinet: the UIM E1 World Championship. E1 Team Miami will be on the startline at the first ever E1 event next February 2-3, 2024, in Jeddah, alongside teams owned by some of the world’s biggest celebrity names, among them Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, Steve Aoki, Sergio Perez, Didier Drogba and Virat Kohli.
Not only will Marc Anthony put a team on the racecourse in season 1, but he will also bring E1 to the United States in season 2 with a glamorous event to be held in Miami. In addition to E1’s industry-leading fan village experience – the Acceleration Festival – the event weekend will feature a concert packed with big names and headlined by the Guinness World Record certified best-selling salsa artist of all time himself.
Beyond the thrills and entertainment on the racecourse, E1’s strong sense of purpose appeals to Anthony’s desire to bring sustainable marine practices to the waters of Miami to ensure they can be enjoyed by future generations.
Anthony’s company, Magnus Media, with a dual focus on music and sports, is the leading Latin artist and athlete representation company in the nation. Anthony is no stranger to sports ownership as a minority owner of NFL team the Miami Dolphins.
As he enters his fourth decade as a recording artist, he has dozens of gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
As a philanthropist, he launched the Maestro Cares Foundation in 2012, which has built orphanages in various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In 2017, Anthony and Magnus announced Somos Una Voz, an alliance of artists and athletes to help provide humanitarian relief to areas affected by natural disasters throughout the southern United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean.
This combination of passion, purpose and entertainment makes Anthony a perfect fit for E1. Up to 10 teams will compete in the inaugural UIM E1 World Championship season, each battling it out to secure the coveted E1 title of Champions Of The Water.
Each team will choose two pilots to share driving duties throughout the event, with regulations mandating each team to select a mixed gender pilot line-up to ensure equal opportunities in the sport.
