Team Miami’s Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP Recap

Team Miami returned to action for the second round of the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF at the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP. Despite facing a challenging weekend, the team showcased resilience both on and off the water.

A Tough Start in Qualifying

Qualifying proved to be difficult for Team Miami, resulting in a lower grid position for the races on finals day. Starting from the least favorable lanes meant that despite our best efforts, gaining positions on the tight course remained an uphill battle. To add to the challenge, the team encountered a major setback when the rear foil detached during one of the races, requiring urgent repairs before the Place Race. Although the crew managed a swift turnaround, it was ultimately not enough to secure a place in the finals for the second consecutive time.

Off-Water Highlights: Partner Engagement & Exclusive Experiences

While our race results didn’t reflect the team’s full potential, the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP was an incredible event for Team Miami and our partners. We were thrilled to have our key partner, Azimut, present throughout the weekend, and the Ocean Club experience at the Corinthia Yacht Club provided a truly world-class setting. Among the high-profile guests in attendance was Hollywood superstar Will Smith, adding even more excitement to an already electrifying weekend.

Additionally, the Opening Ceremony on Thursday featured a spectacular parade of the RaceBirds through the canal around Pearl Island, setting the stage for a thrilling event. The race weekend also saw an appearance from social media sensation Mr Thank You, who brought his audience of over 40 million followers into the E1 world.

New Partners & Stylish Teamwear

We were proud to welcome new brand partners onto our RaceBird, with Eleventy, Greyson Clothiers, and The Moore Miami making their debut on our livery. Our pilots, Anna Glennon and Erik Stark, showcased the latest Bulova timepieces, specifically the Team Miami E1 Marine Star B Limited Edition, adding a stylish and performance-driven edge to the team’s look. On Saturday, Anna and Erik also sported Eleventy Milano’s dedicated Team Miami apparel while enjoying the Ocean Club’s premium hospitality experience. The weekend also saw the introduction of Stilo helmets as a partner. Designed by our very own Team Miami Pilot, Anna Glennon, the new helmets were a hit and looked great.

Progress Behind the Scenes

Despite the on-track struggles, Team Miami remains committed to continuous improvement. Our operations team, which was new at the start of the season, is now working more cohesively than ever, refining processes and ensuring the team is in the best possible shape for future rounds. While bad luck plagued our performance in Doha, we remain optimistic and focused on climbing the championship standings in the upcoming races.

The Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP was another incredible event in terms of global TV broadcast, high-profile attendance, and fan engagement. With a strong foundation and growing partnerships, Team Miami is determined to turn things around in the next race.
